Why build great organizations that enrich people's lives?
Let's build environments and businesses where people can thrive in their passions and be healthy. Where people feel empowered to innovate, voice their opinions and have balanced lifestyles. Let's build companies that challenge the status quo of PROFIT over PEOPLE and challenge our mindsets to PEOPLE over PROFIT.
I believe if we treat people well, maximize their strengths and empower them to live to their fullest, we set our relationships and businesses up for success. When we do this, we have the power to change the world for good and for people. When we do this, everything else will come. People are the catalyst for change and tremendous impact in the world.
What are requirements in building great organizations and how do we get there?
PEOPLE. Good people that believe in the vision and values of the company. Sounds simple, right?
Human Resources and Organizational Development are the "guts" of the company that if done properly, can facilitate corporate cultures that bring out the best in people, increase productivity and produce rapid and significant growth. That said, it takes a village and executive leadership to lead the way and lead by example. It takes constant humility, discernment, empathy, intuition and intentionality at the executive level for organizations to be successful with quality people. This sets companies apart from hiring, culture, retention, professional development, growth, balance, healthy employees and much more.
How the company operates is vital! Having the right people to implement the processes, procedures and systems is crucial to building a great company. The constant drive for operational excellence -- where internal and external processes, procedures and systems are constantly assessed, improved upon and evaluated based on Key Performance Indicators, industry trends, data management and analysis.
More PEOPLE, the consumers. The consumer experience is central to product or service development, growth and profit. Below are some basic questions I like to ask:
Implement voice of customer programs via multi-channel marketing tactics, develop strategies and systems to gather consumer and feedback data for product improvement and product innovation. Understand the customer pain points, value points and focus areas for customers.
Beth Comstock said, "Marketing's job is never done. It's about perpetual motion. We must continue to innovate every day." I believe this to be true. I believe innovative marketing is formula based and constantly customized to reach target markets and increase sales. There is so much to marketing that is often overlooked in positioning, advertising, communications, data analysis, segmentation, expansion and much more!
These are just some ways, I believe we can build great organizations.
“The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It’s as simple as that. A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today. The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.” –Nolan Bushnell
